You do not need to use a claims management company to make a claim; you can do this yourself for free by contacting the car dealership or finance provider and if that is not successful you can complain to the Financial Ombudsman Service. What is a car finance claim?

When taking out a car on finance the dealerships or brokers may have increased your interest rate to increase their commissions which may not have been made clear to you. This is known a the DCA Model. The FCA banned this model in January 2021.

The FCA Investigaton progresses

Since the FCA first released their findings in January 2021 things have progressed significantly in recent months. In January 2024 the FCA launched in investgation into the complaints lenders were recieving due to high numbers and announced they would feed back findings in September 2024. Before the date arrived the FCA released a statement saying they will need until May 2025 but speaking on the Martin Lewis Show, Sheldon Mills from the FCA says the redress scheme is now “more likely than when we started our review”.
